Education, training and employee motivation are required for setting up an effective safety promotion program. Rewarding employees when they achieve the desired result is imperative for an ongoing result. If your firm has a history of starting programs that are never sustained, you'll have an uphill battle gaining employee motivation and support for your new safety promotion. Are supervisors and management committed to safety? Do they practice the same safety needs they preach? Don't rush into a program without understanding the time demands that a program places on you and your supervisors. If you have employee understanding of your goals and motivation for attaining these goals, the results will be more substantial and more long-term.
